It’s that time of year again

It’s that time of year again when everything feels merry, and there’s a spring in everyone’s step (except for Scrooge and the Grinch). The Christmas season is here!

Here are some doors decorated with a festive theme (some I have posted previously). In Melbourne, however, we don’t tend to go all out with holiday decorations. Sad … because I come from a country that celebrates Christmas from September to December.

These are the doors of the town hall in Melbourne CBD.

There are years when we had light shows on the main street.

And houses had their own way of bringing the Christmas spirit to their gates .

Christmas markets are plenty and here are tiny doors from the stalls.

In November of 2018, I was lucky enough to see the Christmas door decorations in London and Central Europe.

Here are some doors in London.

In Prague

In Budapest

And in Vienna

And more doors in London when we went back in 2023.

I am linking this to Dan’s Thursday Doors Challenge

And for Natalie’s Photographing Public Art Challenge

A cheery selectopn. Though this Scrooge draws the line at seeing Christmas decorations in November!

    1. Teresa says:

I promised myself to put decorations up earlier next year. I hate it when I have just put it up and would take it back down again straight away.

      1. margaret21 says:

We’ve put ours up today, and will take them down on Twelfth Night.

  11. When we lived in the Philippines, I remember the celebrations all through the “ber” months. Lovely and festive photos, Teresa!

    1. Teresa says:

That is so true Brenda. So basically about 4 months in a year. Because it usually doesn’t end in December and goes through to a few days after New Year haha. So when were you in the Philippines and how long were you there?
