LONDON, UK
My son often tries to dissuade us from visiting Covent Garden, as he finds it boring. However, Jack and I find it quite enjoyable, even though it’s very touristy. We arrived at the tube station and got off there. Here are some of the doors we passed along the way.
Just a five minute walk from the popular Covent Garden Station is this orange coloured shop of Mr Jones Watches.
A wine shop in Seven Dials
Doors to some of the colourful shops in Neal’s Yard.
Doors to the Seven Dials Market, which is a covered food court in the middle of Covent Garden.
Bright blue entry to “They Made This”, which is a contemporary modern art print shop.
The Nags Head is a traditional London pub. I liked the arched entrance.
A Punjabi Restaurant since 1946.
Crown &Anchor is a British pub (opened in 1904) in the middle of Covent Garden which looks so inviting because of all the plants hanging out of its windows.

It looks quite different from what I remember (long time since I’ve been to Covent Garden). Was it very crowded?
It wasn’t because we were there during an off peak time. However still a bit busy on the main roads and markets.
I think I might have been in the Crown and Anchor, long ago, but even I don’t go back as far as 1904. It’s a lovely, lively area and your photos are great.
Yes it is a lively place. Thanks for commenting, Jo.
A wonderful gallery of interesting doors
Thanks Brian, it is a mixture of shops. Interesting to visit.
These are beautiful, colorful doors, Teresa. I would certainly get off the train and walk around. Not surprisingly, I like the two pubs the best. I give a slight edge to The Nags Head for the details in that grand corner entrance, but Crown and Anchor is very close. I also like Mr. Jones’ shop. Thanks for bringing us along.
My pleasure to take you along, Dan. We didn’t have the chance to go inside the pubs, but the facade is enough for me. They both look great, right! And yes, it was great walking from the station.
The market part of Covent Garden can get uncomfortably busy but the side streets are much more manageable and have some lovely shops and attractive buildings, as you’ve shown 🙂 And nice to see one of our favourite London restaurants here, the Punjab!
That is true, the market area is as busy as… but love the food. Glad to know that you like the Punjabi place, great advice for the next time we go there.
Fantastic shop doors, so inviting!
Yes they look inviting. Thanks Rebecca.
I’ve been to London 4 times how have I not been to Covent Garden?!!! These are wonderful doors. My favorite is the Crown and Anchor. I’m going to look it up on the map…I must have been through it…right? 😂
You must have seen it. It’s right in the middle of the area.
Looking at the map I must have but, just not known it was Covent Garden.😂
