Battery Point is Hobart’s most historic suburb, just a short walk from Salamanca Place and Hobart’s waterfront, Battery Point retains all the character of a Cornish fishing village of the last century with restaurants, antique shops and several pubs.
Here are doors that we passed by on our walk.
A Dental Practice
The General Post Office
Set on the fringe of Hobart’s centre, Battery Point is the city’s oldest and prettiest suburb, revealing row upon row of sandstone cottages, most of which are wonderfully restored by their house-proud owners.
Brightly coloured door and Elephant door knocker that is unique in this area.
This door, featuring gum tree nuts and leaves, is absolutely stunning—a true celebration of natural beauty and modern design.

Hobart has some fabulous doors 👍😀
Yes, I agree. Thanks for commenting, Brian.
A gorgeous part of the world, Teresa.
Yes, love it.
That last one really is a stunner, Teresa, and I absolutely love the elephant door knocker. What a piece of craftsmanship!
Thanks for the comment Jo. So many doors to choose from in that area.
These are wonderful doors, Teresa. I like seeing the different ways people treat otherwise identical doors. I like the little doors at the Post Office and all the colors and shapes. The elephant door knocker is my favorite photo, and that last door is nothing short of amazing.
I love that too especially here that is very uncommon so it really stands out. Thanks for the comment Dan.
As ever, a great selection of doors. I particularly like the inclusion of the Post office locker doors.
Thanks Scooj!
Fantastic selection Teresa. We had a lovely walk around there.
It is an interesting walk and a lot to see.
Your doors give such a good flavour of the area
Glad you think so. Thanks so much.
Wonderful collection of doors. I especially like the double doors and the last one.
Thanks a lot Brenda.
Proof of how doors show the personality of place. What a lively door display!
