Divine Magic of the Sagrada Familia

In this week’s Lens-Artists Challenge, Ritva referenced Leonard Cohen’s saying, “Everything has a crack; that’s how the light gets in.” I am also linking this to Debbie’s Six Word Saturday.

This quote resonates with me in many ways, particularly when I think of the stunning light and ethereal beauty I witnessed at the Sagrada Familia.

The light streaming through the windows of the Sagrada Familia creates a breathtaking spectacle. As it filters through the intricate stained glass, it casts vibrant colors and patterns that dance across the interior, illuminating the space with a sense of divine magic.

There are many things I love about Sagrada Familia, including its incredible stained glass. Your images of it are outstanding and great choice for the week’s challenge. On the other hand I do not like the way it over-dominates (IMHO) the landscape surrounding it. Just a personal opinion, and definitely the minority!

    1. Teresa says:

Well all of Gaudi’s work are the same, they really stand out against its surroundings. So it just really depends on the one looking at it and how they perceive it.

  9. I visited Sagrada Familia twice in one trip to Barcelona (the only time I’ve been to Barcelona so far). The whole structure is beautiful. But I was awestruck by the stained glass windows. They appear to amplify the light, bathing people inside in a bright aura of colour. It’s amazing. Thanks for the gorgeous photos.

    1. Teresa says:

Yup, same feeling here. The stained glass and the light bouncing off is pure magic. Thanks for stopping by Joel.

I can absolutely see why that quote made you think of the Sagrada Familia – the light in these shots is beautiful!

    1. Teresa says:

You don’t have to do much, as the light really does it all. I am in awe.

Wonderful shots, Teresa! What glorious light – it has changed a lot since we were there. Will it be finished in 2026 as they said? Thank you for a beautiful insight into the Cathedral as it looks now.

    1. Teresa says:

I guess the cranes are becoming less and less so maybe it will be finished soon. The reflection is really amazing.
