From our hotel, hubby and I decided walk to the Old Town Square. It is said that Prague is very walkable… so that’s exactly what we did. We may be using the tram in the next few days…. But not just yet.

Surprisingly, although we haven’t reached the main iconic buildings and churches yet, the streets were already so gorgeous as it is.

Prague is the capital city of the Czech Republic and it is considered as one of the most beautiful cities in the world. I have heard from friends and family about how beautiful it is…but when I saw it for myself I can say that … Prague is not just beautiful… it is simply Magical.

Our first day in Prague was overcast so we were disappointed. But I guess there’s a certain beauty in this kind of weather. We were able to enjoy the city’s dusky glow over the picturesque spires while leisurely walking on cobblestone lanes over the Vltava.

The swans in the Vltava River are quite an attraction in itself. Tourists and locals alike have photographed these beautiful creatures, who are always at its banks.

To my surprise, the swans are so used to people that they don’t move away from you. One tall swan (almost as tall as me just went directly towards me, that I though he would attack me. But no, they are very gentle.

Because of its quirky architecture, the “Dancing House” or some call it the “Fred and Ginger House”, has become popular to tourists as well as locals. It is a very distinct architecture, that people can’t resist taking shots of the building. It is located in a very busy intersection where we see trams and buses continuously passing by.

It is funny how So many people are trying to take a photos of it … kicking it … punching it … hahaha. It is said to be one of the most istagrammable places in Prague. And here is my husband doing just that

We went there in November of 2018 for a few days and it wasn’t enough. Every turn…every road…every passage we discovered something amazing!

Located in a busy shopping center in Prague, this is a twisting and reflective sculpture of the head of writer Franz Kafka. This enormous mirrored bust is by Czech artist David Cerny. It was installed in 2014 and it depicts Kafka’s tortured personality.

Nearby, just about 10 minutes walk was the Mucha museum which we had to visit because I love his Art Nouveau style.

Another accidental find was the symbol of the Velvet Revolution of 17 November 1989 in Czechoslovakia, a hand depicting freedom of communism in Prague

By this time, hubby and I were getting tired. But we had to go and see the Astronomical Clock. It is hard to miss because there’s always groups of people standing in front of it.

The Prague Astronomical Clock or Prague Orloj is a medieval astronomical clock attached to the Old Town Hall in Prague

Going up and entering the Old Town Hall, one can see these extravagant sculptures and architecture. This is the Chapel of the Virgin Mary.

This is inside the Astronomical clock and you can just imagine the mechanism that they used to have many different movements in the clock that is set in motion every hour. Here are the twelve apostles.

Climbing to the tower, we were able to get an amazing view of Prague and the city’s main plaza.

From the lookout was a view of one of the dominant symbols of Prague in the Old Town, the Church of the Virgin Mary Before Tyn.

On the other side was the St Nicholas Church which was built in the 18th century.

That was our second day, and we had a great time walking from morning til late afternoon.
