This time, the photos are from my son, Tim. While in New York (he’s now in Los Angeles), he thought of his mumma during his downtime and sent me some wonderful phone snaps of Brooklyn’s colourful murals and street art. This is Rome… Upon entering its doors, you could already feel its rich history, calm atmosphere, and deep sense of faith. The Vatican is located inside Rome’s city boundaries and is an independent city-state. It is home to the majestic St. Peter’s Basilica, the Vatican Museums, and the Sistine Chapel. This narrow brick lane is full of colour and creativity. You may be getting sick of it so I promise… this is the last post in my AC/DC Lane series! 😊 After spending the past few weeks sharing its incredible murals, I thought I’d finish with some of the doors I noticed along the lane. - [A walk in the Fog](https://wanderingteresa.com/a-walk-in-the-fog/): Winter mornings here in Melbourne have been wrapped in a blanket of fog lately. This definitely makes our walks through the local wetlands even more magical. Walking past the permanent residents … always there to welcome us—the graceful black swans, busy coots, and other waterbirds going about their day, completely unfazed by the weather. The still water and soft reflections remind us that nature has its own quiet beauty, whatever the weather. - [Windows in Castlemaine](https://wanderingteresa.com/windows-in-castlemaine/): We went to the Buda Historic Homes and Gardens a few years ago and it seems that I have forgotten to post this window. Visiting Buda felt like stepping back in time. This beautiful villa in Castlemaine, Victoria, was named after Budapest by its Hungarian owner, Ernest Leviny. Home to the creative Leviny family for 118 years, it still holds their furniture, artworks, and personal belongings. Monday Window

There are so many of them that I can never remember which one is which, yet each has its own quiet charm. Some weathered by time and painted in yellow and blue rich colours. - [Tuesday Streetart:  AC/DC Lane (2) – 132](https://wanderingteresa.com/tuesday-streetart-ac-dc-lane-2-132/): AC/DC Lane is one of Melbourne’s most famous laneways, named in honour of the Australian rock band AC/DC. Walking through ACDC Lane felt like stepping into an open-air art gallery. Every wall is covered with colourful murals, graffiti, stencils, and street art, each telling its own story.
- [Villa Escudero Souvenir Shop](https://wanderingteresa.com/villa-escudero-souvenir-shop/): I have posted about my trip to Villa Escudero when I went on a holiday to the Philippines in March 2026. The exterior of the Artikulo Souvenir Shop at Villa Escudero is a work of art in itself. Its rustic wooden windows sit beneath a striking mural of blooming flowers, a graceful carabao, and native birds, blending Filipino culture with contemporary artistry.  Monday Window Challenge

- [A Walk in the City in Monochrome](https://wanderingteresa.com/a-walk-in-the-city-in-monochrome/): Walking the streets of Melbourne in monochrome is a completely different experience from seeing the city in colour. Our main destination for our walk around the city was the NGV (National Gallery of Victoria), where we were booked for a Drop By Drawing Workshop. But before we even got there, Melbourne had already started inspiring us. It was time to catch our domestic flight from Dumaguete to Manila, and after days of perfectly reliable transport…from coasters and four-wheel drives to tricycles…we finally experienced our first hiccup. Just before our scheduled pickup, we learned that our booked transfer from the Airbnb to the airport had been involved in an accident. The main reason we went to Dauin was to visit Apo Island, where we had heard that hundreds of sea turtles (pawikan) could be seen. We were excited for the experience, but sometimes travel has its own surprises, and not everything turns out the way we expect. We were excited, but when we arrived at Malatapay Wharf, we were told that the Coast Guard would not allow any boats to leave because of the strong waves. - [Discarded Plastic Installations  in BGC](https://wanderingteresa.com/discarded-plastic-installations-in-bgc/): I came across these installations in Bonifacio Global City that completely drew me in. Created by Manila Automat, the space felt like stepping into an underwater world … only this one was built from discarded plastic. The Starfish Pod was the first to catch my eye, bold and sculptural, almost glowing in its form. Then there were the Sea Urchin Pods, intricate and spiky, each detail revealing the clever use of recycled PET bottles. - [Tuesday Streetart: BGC Mural - 129](https://wanderingteresa.com/tuesday-streetart-bgc-mural-129/): I visited the BGC Arts Center in Taguig, Metro Manila, and saw a long mural showcasing Filipino dances and musical instruments. Called Isang Guhit, Isang Pintig (“One Line, One Pulse”) by @_racamagay, the colourful artwork celebrates the harmony of music, dance, and acting. I loved how it brought different art forms together in one vibrant rhythm. It is a reminder that art connects people through shared passion and creativity..

- [Windows on the way to Turtle Island](https://wanderingteresa.com/windows-on-the-way-to-turtle-island/): The tricycle driver took us to Turtle Island in Negros Oriental, Philippines. No, we didn’t find any turtles there, but they said that people had scared them all away. I’m not sure if that’s true or just an old woman’s tale. - [Happy Independence Day Celebration](https://wanderingteresa.com/happy-independence-day-celebration/): Today, I attended the Philippine Independence Day celebration at Bunjil Place in Narre Warren. The event started with a flag-raising ceremony, which was a proud and meaningful moment for the Filipino community. You may be wondering what these flags were. Well, the first on the left is the Philippine Flag, the second is the Aboriginal Flag and the third and fourth are Australian flags. The third is an Australian Civil Aviation Ensign while the last one is the Australian National Flag. There were also several song and dance performances throughout the celebration. - [The Windows of St Francis](https://wanderingteresa.com/the-windows-of-st-francis/): According to Wilipedia: St Francis’ Church is a Roman Catholic church located on the corner of Lonsdale and Elizabeth streets in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. It is the oldest Catholic church in the state. The main body of the church is one of very few buildings in central Melbourne which were built before the Victorian gold rush of 1851. It is surrounded by modern buildings. But for me, the highlight was the stunning stained-glass windows. These non-working hydrants have been transformed into Star Wars-inspired art, and honestly, I couldn’t help but smile when I walked past them. These were created by Filipino artist Jasmin Lacay. It’s part of BGC’s public art program, where artists transform everyday objects (like old hydrants) into interactive, fun pieces for the community. Called Forever, the artworks are printed on the glass panels along La Trobe Street. They show old portraits of Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung women placed into modern landscapes taken on Wurundjeri Country. Last week, I was surprised that fellow blogger Nes of Nes Felicio’s Photography, joined me in my weekly quest for StreetArts. Here was her contribution during her holiday in Massachusetts. Jo’s Monday Walk From there, we took the mountain train, slowly making our way upward. As we ascended toward the Fansipan Mountains, the landscape transformed into a dreamy scene of mist-covered mountains. The fog drifted gently over the peaks, giving everything a soft, almost magical feel. Our van made its way along winding mountain roads, revealing sweeping views of terraced rice fields and quiet villages, each scene more beautiful than the last. After about half an hour’s drive, all of us on the tour got off and began WALKING through the valley’s rice paddies.
